The Eyeglass Factory and Showroom has been serving the North Tampa region for many years. We originally opened our doors in Land O' Lakes in 1977. We are Land O' Lakes and Lutz original optical center. Recently, we have relocated our office to a more centeralized and larger building in Lutz. We are now located at 24444 State Road 54 Lutz, FL 33559.

Our Mission

Our Pledge to our patients is to deliver the highest level of care while providing the highest quality of vision products tailored to the specific and unique visual needs of each and every patient. We promise to do eveything in our power to make our patients completely satisfied with their expierience with us. The Eyeglass Factory & Showroom Team

Dr. David Scamard Dr. Scamard is a native of Tampa. He is married with three children. Dr. Scamard attended the University of South Florida for his undergraduate education - where he founded and served as Founding President of the Pre-Optometry Society. Dr. Scamard received his degree as Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale in 1999. Dr. Scamard's training at Nova included externships in Pediatric Optometry and Low Vision Services. Dr. Scamard specializes in Sports Vision and Contact Lenses. Dr. Scamard has given several continuing education lectures to his peers on practice management. He has participated in a humanitarian mission trip to provide eye care to the impoverished in Dominican Republic. Dr. Scamard is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to his patients. He listens to his patient's needs and concerns and makes sure they are addressed to the patient's satisfaction.
Dawn Scamard Dawn has been with the Eyeglass Factory and Showroom since 2002. She was raised in New Jersey and is married with three children. Dawn has experience in all aspects of the optical business, including spectacle lens manufacturing, spectacle fitting and dispensing, insurance benefits, patient relations, and contact lens training. Dawn's mission is to ensure you have an extraordinary experience here at the Eyeglass Factory and Showroom.
Charley Chaney Charley is the founder of the Eyeglass Factory and Showroom. He is a native of Oklahoma and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1959. Charlie is married with four sons and five grandchildren. He was born into a family of optical professionals. Charley's optical career began when he apprenticed at Tate Vision Center in Purcell, Oklahoma while attending high school. He has over fifty years of optical experience. Charley is not only an exceptional optician, he has dedicated his life to furthering his profession by innovating and serving as a professor and a mentor. He has been presented with several awards from various organizations and holds two patents for improvements in optical machinery. Charley has served as president of the Professional Opticians of Florida and has been awarded the prestigious Optician of the Year award in 2001. Charley enjoys helping people and has gained the admiration and respect of the entire community.

Jeannie Chaney Jeannie has been with the Eyeglass Factory and Showroom since 2002. She is an Ohio native who moved to New Jersey where she resided for thirty years. Jeannie is married with two daughters and five grandchildren. She has held management positions in the automobile industry from 1973 to 2006. Jeannie's employment here has given her broad experience in the optical business. Jeannie is confident your experience here will be a pleasant one.
Kay Edwards Kay has been with the Eyeglass Factory and Showroom since 2009. She is a native of South Carolina and has a daughter who also lives in the Tampa Bay area. She volunteers for turtle rescue and preservation. Kay has over eighteen years of experience in the optical industry - which includes employment with the largest spectacle lens manufacturer in the world. Kay's expertise is in helping you select the spectacle frame and lenses that not only look great on you, but will satisfy all your vision needs.
Al Pereira Al is a native of Tampa. He is married with two daughters and five grandchildren. Al attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from the University of Tampa in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Al is a licensed optician with over forty years of experience in this profession. Al enjoys working with people and will be happy to help you find the eyeglasses that are just right for you.
Brandy Dill Brandy is a native of Radcliff,Ky and has two children. Brandy has been in the optical business since May 2004. She has extensive knowledge in contact lenses, and insurance billing. She is a certified contact lens technician and is currently pursuing her certificate for medical coding and billing. Her goal is to provide excellent customer service to our patient's and help answer any insurance questions or problems you may have.
Joseph Garcia Joseph Is a Public Relations Liaison and Director of Business Development for The Eyeglass Factory. Joseph has been in sales, marketing and management since 1995 focusing on the health club industry. Joseph minored in management and earned a marketing degree from Misericordia University, a Catholic University in North East Pennsylvania on a baseball scholarship. He currently resides in Dade City, Florida by way of Dunn, North Carolina. Joseph's future goal is to become a licensed optician.
